Rev. Michael Strom,69, a longtime Akron area Bapist minister, died Saturday, January 27, 1973 at the Akron hospital after a long illness. The funeral was Wednesday at the Akron First Baptist church with Rev. Robert Hamilton of Akron. Rev. Douglas Oelke of Hawarden, and Dr. L. Swenson, area Baptist minister officiating

Rev. Strom, who was pastor emeritus of the Akron Baptist church, was born April 7, 1903 at Honefoss, Norway. He came to the united State at the age of 23 and attended Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago. He married Maria Heitz in 1928. In 1947, Rev. Strom was graduated from Gordon College and Divinity School at Boston Mass., at which time he was ordained

He served pastorates in Rocksbury, Mass., Oxford, Neb., Trent, South Dakota, Columbus, Neb., Knoxville, Codell, Kan., Hawarden and Akron. He also acted as manager of the Harlan Baptist Home in Harlan. Rev. Strom was moderator of the York Baptist state board of managers in Nebraska. He also served as president of the Ministerial Assn. in Columbus
