Hawarden Independent, June 12, 1924

Mrs. Andrew Langley, for eight years a resident of this city, passed away Monday noon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Krull, on the north side, following an illness of about ten days from pneumonia. The Langley family moved from Hawarden to Huron last February and were about to move from that place to Sioux Falls. Mrs. Langley and children came here for a brief visit before going to Sioux Falls and was taken sick after her arrival here. Although she received the best of care, the hand of death could not be stayed. Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Summers' undertaking parlors and at 1:15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Geo. Steinkamp. The remains were then taken to Fairview and interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery near that place.

Inga Rise was born in Norway, Sept. 3, 1886, and passed away June 9, 1924, at the age of 37 years, 9 months and 6 days. She came to America with her parents when about 5 years of age and she grew to young womanhood in the vicinity of Fairview. She was united in marriage with Andrew Langley in Sioux City on Dec. 26, 1911, and the family moved to Hawarden eight years ago and lived here continuously until last February when they moved to Huron. Besides her husband she is survived by six children: Agnes, aged 12; Leo, aged 10; Edith, aged 9; Marion, aged 6; Lillian, aged 3; and Olena, aged 14 months. She also leaves three sisters and five brothers: Mrs. Frank Krull and Mrs. Roy Dowdey of Hawarden; Miss Vida Rise of Fairview; John, Melvin and Martin of Fairview, and Anton and Invoald of Agar, SD. Her aged father, Iver Rise of Fairview, also survives but her mother passed away several years ago and is buried at Fairview.

The deepest sympathy of the entire community goes out to the grief stricken husband and six little children who are left motherless through this catastrophe which has befallen them and to the aged father, brothers and sisters.
