Mrs. L. A. (Sarah) Lock, 74 of Belleville, Ill., former resident of Rock Valley, died Tuesday, November 10 at the home of her son.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 14, 1:30 p.m., in the Porter Funeral Home with the Rev. L. B. Showalter officiating. Mrs. Ed De Haas, soloist was accompanied by Mrs. Pier Wynia, organist.

Pall bearers were Owen Manning, Glen Benson, Ed Schmidt, Hessel Roorda, Alex Heymen and Lee Schlecty. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Sarah Michaelson was born on December 6,1895 in Hudson, Wisc. She graduated from Riverfall, Wisc., normal college and taught Math in Wisconsin and Rock Valley.

She married Dr. A. L. Lock in 1919. He practiced in the medical profession for 33 years until his death in October, 1952. Mrs. Lock taught in the country school system nine years afterwards. She was a resident of Belleville, Ill. for one year. She was a past worthy matron, a 50 year member of the Rock Valley Chapter of Eastern Star, a member of Rebbecca Lodge and the Pioneer United Methodist Church. Her husband and a son, Loren, preceded her in death.

Survivors are a son Emlin of Cahokia, Ill, and two grandchildren.
