Sioux County Herald of Aug 1. 1900 p. 5
Last Friday morning at 4:00 o'clock, Mrs. Jacob Mieras residing near Maurice departed this life after an, illness of only thirty-six hours. She bad attended to her household duties and was apparently in good health up to Wednesday afternoon when she was taken with cholera morbus which the attending physician was unable to relieve in time to save her life, and resulted as above. Deceased was thirty-four years of age, and leaves a husband and six small children, the eldest of whom being eleven years and the youngest only five weeks old. Mrs. Mieras was a Christian, and a devoted mother and faithful wife, and her sudden demise cast a gloom of sorrow over the entire community. She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Van Peursem , who, it will be remembered buried a son about seven mouths ago, and this second fatality in the family renders the grief of the old people pitiable.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family in the deepest sincerity.
