On Sunday noon occurred the death of C Aart Kamerman, who had been ill with typhoid fever for several weeks: deceased leaves a wife and four young children, the youngest being only "a few days old. He was an honest, industrious and highly respected citizen, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the stricken family. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon from the First Reformed church page 5,
Mr. A. Kammerman, residing near Sioux Center died Sunday of typhoid fever. His wife and an eight-year-old son are dangerously sick with the same disease. Henry Kerkhoff of this place is a brother of Mrs. Kammerman and was out there to assist in taking care of the family. While there he contracted typhoid fever and is now dangerously ill with it.
(In the 1885 census of West Branch Sioux county Aart Kamerman was 24 years old living with his father B. Kamerman 63 and brothers Hendrik 35, Cornelius 42, and Jentje 14. In the marriage record of Aart’s daughter Margie Kamerman to Henry Calsbeck in 1911 it lists her father as Aart Kamerman and mother as Berendina Van Kerkhoff. In the 1910 census the mother Dina was 50 years daughter Margie 19 and Ida 9.)
