John L. Parker of Matlock died Sept. 11 at French Lick, Ind. He was born Dec. 22 1833 and came to Sioux County in 1877. For years he has suffered from pain and disease, bearing both without complaint. He had served his township, Grant, for a long time as justice of the peace, and was highly regarded for his upright integrity.
THE HERALD has had each week for two years a letter from Mr. Parker's pen and feels a personal loss in his death.

Boyden Reporter. J. L. Parker of Matlock died in a hospital in Indiana this week. We were unable to learn the cause of his death.
