Evertje Bolluyt 1873—1929
Mrs. T. C. Bolluyt, nee Evertje Doornewaard, was born in the year 1873 at Gelderland Netherlands. She came to America with her parents at the age of 16 years. In the year of 1895 she was united in marrriage to T C. Bolluyt, also of the Netherlands at Sioux Center. They made their home at Sioux Center till the year 1909 and then moved to the farm at Maurice where they lived 21 years. She had always enjoyed good health until three months ago. She was taken to the Sacred Heart hospital at Le Mars on March 22 where she passed away on April 2 after submitting to an operation which revealed cancer of the stomach. She was 56 years, eleven months and 25 days old.
Those left to mourn her departure are her husband, T. C. Bolluyt and seven children all living around Maurice; daughter–Marie, Mrs. Ted Schreur, Mrs. Arie Van Driel, Mrs. John Kots; sons—Bert, Martin J, Tony C. Jr., and five grandchildren. All feel the loss of a dear and loving mother and grandmother. Funeral services were held Saturday at 12 o’clock at the home and one o’clock at the First Ref. Church at Maurice, Rev. John Straks officiating. The remains were laid to rest at the Sioux Center cemetery. The loss is felt greatly by the relatives on November 18, 1929 her brother, John Doornewaard of Sioux Center, and on March 15, 1930 her sister, Mrs. John Vis of Hills, Minn., died, all a great shock to relatives.
