Irene May Bolluyt Found in Ireton Ledger Jul 23, 1931.
Irene May Bolluyt passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bolluyt Friday morning following a sickness of several months with cancer of the glands.
Irene May was born on a farm east of Ireton July 16, 1926 and passed from this life.
July 17, 1931, being 5 years and 1 day of age.
She is survived by her sorrowing parents, 1 sister andtwo brothers. Two grandfathers, John Schreur and T. C. Bolluyt, several uncles and aunts and a host of other relatives and friends. Irene was of a sunshiny and lovable nature the pride of her parents and friends and despite her tender 'years until the last few months enjoyed the best of health and attended school.. She particularly loved her teacher, Miss Caroline Vander Braak who spoke of her as an industrious and apt pupil and was present here on July 16 on the child's birthday when Irene wanted a party and the aunts, uncles and cousins came to call on her. She also requested the lighting of the candles and much enjoyed the gifts which were brought. Conscious almost to the last Irene slipped quietly Friday morning to that better world. Funeral services were held Monday from the First Ref. church at Maurice with Rev. John Straks in charge. Burial was made at Maurice in the family burial plot.
