Salem Johnson aged twenty two years, son of John Johnson residing five miles west of town died last Saturday from typhoid pneumonit. The deceased was a bright, hardworking young man and was his father's pride and main reliance in the conduct of his farm and business interests. He was a member of the Hawarden lodge of Woodman of
the World and the members of that order attended to the funeral ina body and had charge of the funeral services which took place at Big Springs Monday.
(In the 1900 census of Big Springs Union SD. John Johnson was 67, Johanna 61 children were Louis, Etta, and Salem.)
