HAWARDEN, Iowa — Leone Van Es, 69, of Hawarden died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden, with the Rev. Timothy Solberg, of American Lutheran Church, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
Mrs. Van Es was born June 26, 1928, in Tamarack, Minn., the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Mapes) Nelson. She married Kenneth Anderson on June 11, 1949, in Tamarack. The couple lived in Minnesota and Illinois. He died June 23,1968. She moved to Hawarden five years
ago.
Survivors include three sons, Steven Anderson and his wife, Candy, of Frankfort, Ill., Michael Anderson and his wife, Brenda, of Martinez, Ga., and Duane Anderson; a daughter and her husband, Lynn and Barriball of Flossmoor, Ill.; sister and her husband Darlene and Milo McPherso n of Hawarden; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Nelson, and a sister, Ilo Anderson.
