Albert H. Meendering
Albert H. Meendering, 71, of Sioux Center, died Sunday, April 10, 1994 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were held Tuesday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Rev. Mark DeWitt and Rev. Donald Barnes officiated.
Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center, under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home. Albert was born to John and Jennie (Smit) Meendering, Sr. on July 23,1922 in Springfield, S.D. He served overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 277th Port Company. On June 26,1947 he married Elsie Jasper in Orange City. They lived and farmed near Sioux Center, retiring in 1985. Mr. Meendering was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center and was past commander of V.F.W. Post 6129, Sioux Center.
He is survived by his wife; three sons and their wives, Harry and Dolores of Hull, Ken and Kathleen of Orange City, and Rob and Rochelle of Sioux Center; eight grandchildren; a brother, John Meendering Jr. of Orange City; and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Gertrude) Kuhl of Sioux Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters. Mrs. Louis (Sadie) Cleveringa and Mrs. Ted (Hattie) Drost.
