The sad news has been received here of the death on Nov. 9th of Mrs. Anson Brooks, formerly Clara Hyde. She passed away at her home in Portland, Ore., following a week's illness with influenza. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 12. She leaves besides her husband, six children. The eldest, Teddy Hyde, is serving with the A.E.F. in France with the 19th Ambulance Co., 4th Sanitary Train, and five small children, four boys and one girl, the youngest a babe of five and a half months. Mr. Brooks has also suffered a severe attack of influenza but was improving, and at the date of writing the children were all well.
