George J. Miller, 91, of Alcester, died Sept. 3 in a Hawarden hospital.

Services were at 2 P.M., Sept. 6 in Roseni Lutheran Church, rural Alcester. The Rev. Ralph Christopherson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Wass Funeral Home of Alcester in charge.

Mr. Miller was born Sept. 3, 1884, in Carroll County, near Manning, Iowa. He moved to Union County with his parents at the age of eight. He married Carrie Stene, March 31, 1919 in Alcester. Mr. & Mrs. Miller farmed in Union County until their retirement in 1966. Mrs. Miller died in 1968. Four the last six years, Mr. Miller had been a resident of Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Eveline) Numsen; Mrs. Stanley (Gladys) Anderson, and Mrs. William (Lillian) Ericson, all of Alcester; a brother, Charlie of Hawarden; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson, Hawarden, and Mrs. Josephine Heyl of Akron, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
