Hawarden Independent, November 17, 1949

Ireton, Iowa - Ross Day, 61, of LeMars died Monday afternoon of a fractured skull, suffered in a fall from a shed he was building for a lumber company in LeMars. He was taken to the Sacred Heart hospital where he died shortly after.

He was a LeMars resident of 20 years going there from Ireton, where he was born and lived on a farm following his marriage some 40 years ago to Florence Crouse.

Survivors are the widow, three sons, Lyle and Lowell of LeMars, and Ivan of Yakima, Wash. Also surviving are four brothers, Delbert E. Day of Ireton, Jim Day of Salt Lake City, Utah, George Day of Auburn, Wash., and Jasper Day of Yakima, Wash., and two sisters, Miss Eva Day of LeMars and Mrs. Will Bushby of Ireton.

Mr. Day was employed at the Lambert Lumber company and also was an apartment owner in LeMars.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Luken Funeral Home.
