Kundert, Mrs. Melvin - Died 1951

Hawarden Independent, February 1, 1951

Mrs. Melvin Kundert of Bruns, Ore., was killed January 1 when a shot gun was accidentally discharged at her home.

Mrs. Kundert, eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Will Storts, formerly lived in Hawarden.

Mr. & Mrs. Kundert had spent the day with a neighbor and Mr. Kundert had taken his shot gun along to hunt rabbits. Returning home in the eventing, Mrs. Kundert asked her husband to hold some dishes while she unlocked the door. As he placed the gun on the ground it accidentally discharged and Mrs. Kundert was shot in the back. She was killed instantly.

Mrs. Floyd Kaser, Mabel Dillon, and Ed Storts of Paradise, Calif., were called to Burns to attend the funeral of their sister. Mr. and Mrs. Storts, both of whom are 81 were unable to attend the funeral.

Mr. & Mrs. Storts will observe their 64th wedding anniversary this month.
