Sioux Center News, June 24, 1987

Esther McGlouglin, 84, of Orange City died Saturday, June 13, at the home of her daughter in Larchwood.

Services were at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 18, in American Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Keith Krebs officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.

Born Esther Carlson on June 22, 1902, in Alcester, South Dakota, she graduated from Wayne Nursing School. In 1920 she married Tulsa Taylor in Sioux City. He died in 1926. She married Harry McGloughlin in 1928 in Sioux City. He died in March 1944. She came to Orange City in 1939 and was employed as a nurse in the Orange City hospital for many years, retiring in 1960.

She was a member of American Reformed Church.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Taylor of Reno, Nevada, and Donald McGloughlin of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Ruth Waagmeester of Larchwood and Harriet Rons of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Ruth Carlson of Benson, Minnesota, and Grace Quamme of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
