Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Martens, 43, sister of Clarence Bennett of Hawarden, who died in a New York City hospital following surgery, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Christian church at Akron.

Rev. Richard Brown officiated with burial in the Riverside cemetery.

Mrs. Martens was born July 14, 1916, at Akron. She married Delvin Martens on August 28, 1940.

The couple had been in foreign service in Burma, working with the Ford foundation. They returned to New York because of her illness.

Survivors include the widower; her father, Frank Bennett of LeMars; the brother, Clarence, of Hawarden; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie McMahan of Sioux City, Mrs. Gladys Huebner of Akron and Mrs. Daisy Sayles of Whittier, Calif.
