Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, at the Netherland Reformed Church for Geurt J. Maassen, 58, who died last week after a lingering illness.

Mr. Maassen was born Dec. 12, 1896, at Ede, Netherlands and died May 22, 1955.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alieda Johanna; three sons, John Geurt, Albert and Richard; three brothers, Gerrit, Maas and John; and five sisters, Hattie (Mrs. John Buitenwerf), Lizzie (Mrs. Henry Huyser), Effie (Mrs. Ralph Van Ginkel), Minnie (Mrs. Marinus Rozeboom) and Jennie (Mrs. Jake Van Voorst).

Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

The Rev. John Van Zweden officiated at the services with burial being in the Rock Valley cemetery.
