Mrs. John Den Hartog residing two miles northeast of town died of Bright's disease Wednesday at eleven o'clock. Deceased was fifty years old and leaves a husband and thirteen children. Burial was at Orange City on Thursday. Mrs. Den Hartog's maiden name was VerHoef and she was a sister to G. VerHoef who recently moved to Dubuque. She has other brothers and sisters herabout. She had been sick but a short time and was in town last Sunday.
(Annigje VerHoef was the dau. of Herman Verhoef and Maaike Klein, she was born 11 Aug 1851 and died 7 Aug 1901 buried Orange City. she was married 18 Sep 1872 Pella IA. Her husband was Jan D. DenHartog b. 17 Jul 1850 Pella IA and died 26 Apr 1922 Orange City. Children - Maaike, Jannigje, Johanna, Dirk, Herman, Nellie, Gerturida, Dingman, John, Adrianes, Jimmie, Ida, and Walter
