Henry Van der Wilt, who died last week at the home of his son-in-law Herman De Kraay, was 66 years old He came to America in 1847 and removed from Pella to Sioux county in 1872 with his wife and ten children, nine of whom are still living. He was a man of Christian character and much respected. The funeral took place from the First Reformed church, conducted by Dr. Steffens, Rev. Kolyn and Elder De Jong.

(Hendrik Vander Wilt was born 14 Jan 1835 Breukelen, Utrecht Netherlands died 8 Mar 1901 Orange City IA. Wife was Cornelia Werkhoven married Mar 30, 1855 at Pella Marion Iowa. Children were – Gertrude, Jannetta, Jane, Nellie, Henrietta and John in the 1880 census.)
