Adrian Visser Dies at Age 82
Adrian Visser, 82, a long time resident of Hawarden, died Saturday morning [February 12] in the Hawarden hospital after an illness of almost a year.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the Frazier Funeral Home and at the Christian Reformed church at 2 o'clock with Rev. B. Vande Brink officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.
Adrian or Jim Visser, as he was known, was born November 17, 1872, in The Netherlands. He came to America as a young man and settled near Sioux Center where he lived several years. Later he came to Hawarden where he farmed about 30 years and when he retired he moved into Hawarden.
Survivors are the widow, Dora; one daughter, Mrs. John Ekdom of Ireton; one son, Tony of Hawarden; one brother, Joost, in The Netherlands; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several stepchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Nettie Vander Lugt, and one brother, Case, preceded him in death.
