Former Rock Valley Baker Dies In Calif.

News was received by friends here of the death of Christian Visser of Bellflower. A clipping from a California paper reads "Christian Visser, 63, of 17103 Clark Ave. died August 27 in a Long Beach hospital. He was born in Ermelo, Gelderland, the Netherlands, migrated to the United States in 1916 and had resided in this community since 1942. He was employed at Sunnyside Memorial Park, Long Beach, during that time. Surviving are the widow, Grace; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bauman of Bellflower; a son, Peter Visser of Bellflower; five grandchildren. Service was held this morning in Bethel Reformed Church with Rev. John Niewsma officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside Memorial Park, Long Beach." The Vissers resided in Rock Valley for several years, Mr. Visser being employed in the Vander Meer Bakery when he first moved to town.
