Peter Visser, 68, of Rock Valley, died Thursday, January 29, 1987 in a Sioux Falls hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 2 at Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. Visser was born April 1, 1918, in Hull, and attended school in Rock Valley. He married Edith Henderson on June 2, 1937, in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Rock Valley until moving to California in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1945. Following the war he worked for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Co. in Long Beach, Calif. for 30 years. He retired in 1980 and the couple moved to Rock Valley. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rock Valley and a former member of the VFW in Bellflower.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William of Norwalk, Calif., and Ronald of Bellflower; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Rose Marie) Enders of Bellflower; one sister, Mrs. Bernard (Margaret) Bauman of Yucca Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
