Visser, Winnie, Mrs. Case, 1907-1988

Winnie Visser, 81, of Rock Valley, died Friday, October 14, 1988, at a hospital in Rock Valley.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Visser, the former Winnie De Jong, was born April 7, 1907, at Sioux Center. She attended rural school near Rock Valley. She married Case Visser Feb. 25, 1931, at Rock Valley. They farmed near Maurice, Lebanon, Hull, Larchwood and Rock Valley. They retired and moved into Rock Valley in 1975.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and Martha Circle of the church. She was also a volunteer at the Valley Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband; a son, C. J. and his wife Anita Visser of Albuquerque, N.M.; five daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Fannie) Westra of Ireton, Iowa, Mrs. Dick (Cora) Prins of Hartley, Mrs. Glenn (Harriet) Kooiman of Leota, Minn., Mrs. Erwin (Jo) Goslinga of Hospers, Iowa, and Mrs. Alwayne (Freddy) Vande Kamp of Richfield, Minn.; a brother, Henry De Jong of Rock Valley; three sisters, Alice Swier of Rock Valley, Harriet De Jong of Orange City, Iowa and Margaret Kooiker of Madison, S.D.; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Fannie; three brothers, Bill, Manus and Herman; two sisters, Minnie Boogerd and Anna Brunsting; two grandchildren, Randall Visser and Douglas Goslinga and a great-grandchild, Valerie Prins.
