From the Sioux County Herald (Orange City), January 24, 1900:

Tenes Riepma, aged 70 years, died at his home in Orange City last Saturday forenoon at 11 o'clock. Mr. Riepma received injuries in his left side in the Sioux Center cyclone five years ago, from which he has been a great sufferer ever since, and they are thought to be the cause of his death. He leaves four children to mourn his demise. The funeral was held from the Christian Reformed church yesterday afternoon, of which denomination he was a member.

(From researcher Wilma J. Vande Berg: From the 1925 census Jake Riepma noted his mother as Gertrude Hallema and father as Teunis Riepma. In the obit of Evert Riepma and his sister Mrs. Wiebe Kampstra it was noted that there were three children in the family, Evert, Jacob and Mrs. Kampstra.)
