From the Alton Democrat of August 3, 1901

Mrs. Antone Neuroth died at her home in Granville Thursday morning at
nine o'clock aged thirty-one years after a sickness of five weeks with
bright's disease of the kidneys.

Deceased was before her marriage Miss Julia Kuhl and has many friends
in this community. Some seven or eight years ago she was married to
Autone Neuroth and to them were born three children the oldest now six
years of age. The husband and little ones survive her and have the
most earnest sympathy of a wide circle of friends. Their loss is a sad
one for Mrs, Neuroth was a kind wife and loving mother.

To the minds of frail mortals it would seem that she should have been
spared for many years yet. At the time of writing funeral arrangements
have not been made but burial will probably take place Saturday
morning.

NOTES:
(Anton Neuroth was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. He came to America in 1869 and settled at Springbrook, IA. He moved to Granveille IA in 1895. He married Julis Kuhl on May 30, 1892 at Haverhill. They had Five children. Rose 1893, Bertha 1895 Francis 1897, Emma 1898, Joseph 1900. Anton died in LeMars Oct 17, 1926 and Julia died 1901. Anton remarried Theresa Wagner Oct 21, 1907. Noted in the August 10 issue, Her brother in law P. K. Neuroths from
Berseford didn't make it for the funeral as they were in Davenport.
