Sioux Center News, September 27, 1973

Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church in Newkirk, September 21 for Mrs. John Brower, 76, of Orange City, who died September 18, at the Heritage House in Orange City where she had resided the past three years.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Clarence Van Heukelom and burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City.

Mrs. Brower, the former Hattie Reinders, was born January 16, 1897 at Orange City. She was married to M. J. Foreman, May 18, 1915 at Orange City and the couple farmed in Plymouth County until 1945 when they moved to Orange City. Mr. Foreman died July 4, 1953, at Orange City.

She was married to John Brower March 25, 1955 at Orange City.

Survivors include the widower; four sons, Jacob Foreman of Maurice; John Foreman of Orange City; Edward Foreman of Sioux Center, and Marvin Foreman of Lakewood, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Egbert (Marcia) Aalbers of Alton and Mrs. Newman (Betty) De Haas of Silver Springs, MD; stepdaughters, Mrs. Ed Bouw of Leota, Minn., and Mrs. Joubert Wassenaar of Orange City; two brothers Joe J. Reinders of Orange City, and Albert Reinders of San Diego, Calif, three sisters, Mrs. Henry Vellinga; Mrs. Andrew Vogel and Mrs. John Gerritsen, all of Orange City; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
