Paul Arie Verrips, 86, of Pleasant Hill, California, formerly of Sioux Center, died July 2 in Pleasant Hill.

Services were July 6 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Concord, California.

Verrips was born October 27, 1912 to Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Verrips at Middleburg. He married Johanna Van Dyke of Hull. He had been a contractor for 30 years and a real estate broker for 20 years, living in Bellflower, California, before moving to Pleasant Hill six year ago.

He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church. His hobby was woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years; sons Paul Verrips of Danville, California; Rod Verrips of Martinez, California, and Jack Verrips of Moraga, California; a sister, Pearl Sjogren of Fullerton, California; a brother, Gradus Verrips of Sioux Center, 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
