Sioux Center News, November 15, 1956

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Christian Reformed Church of Orange City for Mrs. Sip La Fleur, nee Elizabeth Bruxvoort, of Orange City, who passed away Wednesday after a lingering illness following surgery for a malignancy one year ago.

Services were conducted by Rev. A. Dusseljee. The Van Etten Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.

Born at Sully, Iowa, August 5, 1903, Miss Bruxvoort moved to Crookston, Minn., with her parents when she was four years old. She was married to Mr. La Fleur in 1922 at Crookston. After four years the family moved to Grand Rapids. In 1930 the La Fleur family located at Orange City.

Surviving are her husband and four sons: Richard of Los Angeles, Calif.; Herman of Detroit, Mich.; Edward of St. Paul, Minn.; and Sidney of Clear Lake, IA. There are 10 grandchildren. Others surviving include her mother, Mrs. Herman Bruxvoort of Orange City; seven brothers and three sisters.
