Obituary: Rock Valley, Iowa: Angie Termaat, 89, of Rock Valley, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed of Rock Valley with Rev. John Engbers officiating. Burial prior at Hillside Cemetery in Doon, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley with family present 6:30 - 7:30 p.m..

Angie, daughter of Bart and Agnes (De Vries) Vander Veen, was born June 11, 1922 at Warfstermolen, Friesland, Netherlands. She married Jacob Termaat on October 6, 1948 in Delavan, Wisconsin. They lived in Delavan where Angie raised their family. Her children were blessed to have her for a mother. In 1987 she and Jack retired to Rock Valley. Angie was a founding member of the Delavan Christian Reformed Church and later became a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley. She enjoyed camping, reading, crocheting, and attending Ruth Circle at First CRC. Angie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Delavan, WI, and Philip of Fort Dodge, IA; daughter Pamela (Larry) Maassen of Rock Valley, and a daughter-in-law Rose-Ellen Lorber-Termaat of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ; eight grandchildren, DeAnna (Doug) Miller, Jason (Kerry) Termaat, Tori Termaat, Matthew (Andrea) Termaat, Tyne (John) Runfeldt, Zachery Lorber-Termaat, Stephanie Maassen, and Jacob Maassen, and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers, John (Dorothea) Vander Veen of Alto, MI, Gus (Jan) Vander Veen of Holland, MI, a sister, Theresa Los of Elkhorn, WI; brother-in-law William "Bud" (Florence) Termaat of Rock Valley; two sister-in-laws, Tillie Bork of Luverne, MN, Evelyn Huisman of Holland, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; son, James Termaat, and brother, Howard Vander Veen.
