Funeral services wee held Saturday afternoon, October 12 in the Orange City town hall for Mrs. Al Lyzen who passed away Thursday morning at 6 o'clock at her home in Orange City after suffering for two months with a glandular ailment.

Mrs. Lyzen, nee Alice Van Engen, was born April 2, 1883 at Orange City. She married Mr. Lyzen on March 1, 1902.

They were the parents of five children, Josephine (Mrs. Leland Goodlaxon) of Creston, IA; Gertrude (Mrs. Onen Steines) of Alton; Dena of Orange City; Daniel A. of LeMars, and Gerrit of Alton.

Surviving besides her husband and children are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two brothers, Gt. Van Engen of Sanborn and John Timmer of Denver, Colo. Officiating at the services were Frank Tyson and J. Wilson of this area. Interment was made at Alton.
