John Nielson and John Carpenter were killed when the car in which they were riding was struck by the Milwaukee Arrow at the north edge of Chatsworth last Thusday night.....more details...
Funeral services for Mr. Nielson were held at the Barnard Funeral home here at 2:30 Sunday afternoon with Rev. Milton Schaper of the Methodist church in charge. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.
Mr. Nielson was born at London Bjert, Denmark, February 18, 1881. He came to America in 1904, locating on a farm in Union County. He spent the rest of his life in this vicinity with the exception of a year when he returned to his native land.
Following the death of Carl Nielson, he helped care for his two small children and later he married Mrs. Ruby Nielson. His wife preceded
him in death in 1922. He is survived by two step-children. Mrs. Cecil Nielson, who lived with him. When still in Denmark he was baptzed and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.
