Mrs. Gerrit Lyzen of rural Alton died Sunday in a hospital at Viborg, SD, after a long illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday in the Unity High School in Orange City. Lyle Schober officiated. Burial was in the Nassau Township Cemetery at Alton.

Mrs. Lyzen, the former Driessa VerBeek married Gerrit Lyzen, April 15, 1937, at Sioux Center. They farmed in the Alton area all their married life.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Linda) Andrews of Alton; four brothers, Tim of Rock Rapids, Gerrit of Hartley, Al of Inwood and Everett of Viborg; two sisters, Mrs. Sam (Alice) Koolstra of Inwood and Mrs. Tom (Anna) Johnston of May City and three grandchildren.
