Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3, at the First Reformed Church of Hull for Bert VerSteeg, 70, who passed away recently after a prolonged illness. Rev. N. Rozeboom officiated.

Mr. VerSteeg was born at Orange City, June 29, 1888, and attended Orange City High School. He was united in marriage to Gertrude De Jong, September 20, 1910, and to them were born eight children.

Surviving are the widow and seven children: Ronald of Rock Rapids; Viola, Mrs. Jno. De Groot, of Worthington; Margaret, Mrs. Ben Van Veldhuizen, of Orange City; Vernon of Kenneth, Minn.; Birdella, Mrs. Harry De Jager, of Luverne; Norman of Kenneth, Minn.; Elnora, Mrs. Lawrence De Wild of Boyden.

Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Jeane Luymes of Orange City; two half brothers, Case VerSteeg of Alton, and Henry VerSteeg of Sibley, and 35 grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.
