Sioux Center News, April 3, 1947

Mrs. John Versteeg passed away at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Sheldon after a lingering illness of four months. She was 60 years old. Funeral services will be held in Sheldon, Friday, April 4, 1:30 at the house and 2:00 at the First Reformed Church.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, John Versteeg, an aged mother, Mrs. M. Moret who resides at the Holland Home in Sheldon, 5 children who will all be here for the funeral. They are: Verna (Mrs. Harold Hyink) of Grand Rapids, Mich., Melvin of Sheldon, Cedric of Sioux Center, Viola (Mrs. James Vollmer) of Sioux City, and Henry John of Bellflower, Calif., 10 grandchildren, 5 sisters and one brother.

Versteeg Cleaners will be closed all day Friday, the day of the funeral.
