William K. Kooiker
HULL, Iowa - William K. Kooiker, 76, of Hull died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at his residence
following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Protestant Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Richard G. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by Oolman
Funeral Home in Hull.
Mr. Kooiker was born Oct. 2, 1922, near Boyden, Iowa, the son of Nick William and Minnie (Brummel) Kooiker.
He attended country school near Boyden and Western Christian High School in Hull. He married Joyce K. Mulder on Nov. 22, 1949, in Doon, Iowa. The couple farmed near Boyden until 1955, when they moved to a farm near Hull. They moved into Hull in February, 1997. He was a member of Protestant Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon. He also served on the board of directors for Christian schools.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Kenneth and Wayne, both at home, Lyle and his wife, Pam of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Nick and his wife, Janet of Hull; three daughters; and their husbands, Karla and Doug Kats of Hudson, S.D., Aletha and David Groeneweg of Rock Valley and Tricia and John Driesen of Westminster, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two
brothers and their wives, Alvin and Sally of Boyden and A. Glenn and Betty of Sheldon, Iowa; and two sisters and their husbands, Johanna and Peter Roy Westra and Clarine and Tim K. Kooima, all of Hull.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.
