SANBORN Kathleen Boer, 69, Sanborn, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. Services were Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Christian Reformed Church in Sanborn, with the Rev. Dale Fopma officiating. Burial was at Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn, under the direction of Sanborn Funeral Home Service.
Kathleen Boer, daughter of John and Maggie (Brummel) Vis, was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Hull. She lived her youth in Hull and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull. She continued her education in LeMars, where she received her teaching certificate.
She taught in country schools near Hull and the Christian School. She married Peter Boer on Feb. 9, 1951, in Hull. They farmed east of Sanborn. Mrs. Boer died Dec. 21, 1997, at Spencer Municipal Hospital. She was a member of Sanborn Christian Reformed Church and the Ladies Bible Fellowship.
Survivors include her husband, Peter of Sanborn; her children, Jeffrey and Elaine Boer of Sheldon, Marlys and Al Schoenwetter of Springfield, MO, and Kevin and Michele Boer of Sheldon; 10 grandchildren and sisters, Johanna Schreur of Hull, Alberta Visser of Hudsonville, MI, and Elizabeth Franken of Sioux Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Douglas; three brothers, Pete, Henry and
Albert; and two infant brothers.
