HAWARDEN, Iowa - John Nyhof, 80. of Hawarden died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at
Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.
Service was Aug 14, 2004 at Hawarden Community church. Burial will be in Sherman
Township Cemetery, Maurice, Iowa. Arrangements with the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
John Nyhof was born Aug. 26, 1923, northwest of Ireton, Iowa, the son of Henry and Clara (Van Gronigen) Nyhof. He worked as a farmhand for various farmers in the Hawarden area. He loved to farm and tend to the flowers at Hillcrest Health Care Center, where he moved to in July 1985. He was a member of Hawarden Community Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Wilma Biesbrock of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Clara and her husband, Bud Bolluyt of Hawarden; a sister-in-law Frieda Nyhof of Fargo, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond; an infant sister, Henrietta;
and a brother-in-law Jake Biesbrock.
