Lyle Nyhof
October 10, 1960 - April 4, 2012 Lyle Nyhof, 51 died peacefully at his rural Sioux Center residence on Wednesday, April 04, 2012. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating.

Lyle Gene Nyhof was born on October 10, 1960 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was the second child of Len and Myna Nyhof. They lived in Sioux Center.

Lyle attended the Sioux Center Christian School and Western Christian High School. After high school he went to work for the family business, Nyhof Turf and Trail. He later attended Western Iowa Tech Community College and graduated with an Auto Mechanic Degree. Over the years, Lyle also worked for Groschopp and Sioux Automation.

For 21 years, Lyle served his country as a member of the Air National Guard. Lyle was proud to be a part of the 185th Fighter Wing Division in Sioux City.

Lyle was the proud father of Austin, Amy, Lisa, and Leah. In July 2006, Aaron Moss joined the family when he was joined in marriage to Amy. Within the next few years, two grandchildren (Aalijah and Aisayah) entered the world and found a very special place in grandpa’s heart. He was blessed to share 26 years of his life in marriage to Alice.

Lyle was very active in the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He devoted many hours to teaching Sunday school, ushering and was known for being the handyman on many different service trips.

He enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and had a huge passion for John Deere tractors and his Chevy Camaro.

Survivors include his four children: Austin Nyhof of Orange City, Amy and Aaron Moss of Hull and their children: Aalijah and Aisayah, Lisa Nyhof and Leah Nyhof, both of Sioux Center; his mother, Myna Nyhof of Sioux Center; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Pam Nyhof of Kalamazoo, MI; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lora and Jess Elliott of Yankton, SD and Linda and Shon Oertel of Orange City. He is also survived by Alice Nyhof of Sioux Center as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lyle was preceded in death by his father and a brother- in-law, Brad Eisma.
