Rites Held Monday For Ed Hoekstra Of Rock Valley
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church at Rock Valley Monday afternoon for Edward Hoekstra, 36, of Rock Valley, who died Thursday of a heart attack while aboard a chartered plane enroute to Regina, Sask., Canada, with three fishing companions.

Hoekstra was removed from the plane at Aberdeen, S. D., and was rushed by ambulance to a hospital but could not be revived.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Henry Poppen and burial was made in Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley. The deceased was district sales manager for Funk's Hybrid Seed Corn.

He was born at Doon October 2 1925. Survivors include his widow, Ellen; a daughter, Judy, 15; a son, Douglas Edward, 5, his parents. Mr. and Mrs, Edward Hoekstra, sr., two sisters, Mrs. Marion Van Driel and Mrs. Dick D. DeRuyter, both of Rock Valley; and a brother, Jolm E., of Rock Rapids.
