Donald Hoekstra
Donald Hoekstra, 71, of Hull died Tuesday, August 30, 1994, at. his home.
Services were held at the Protestant Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev, Richard Moore and the Rev. Marlin Vis officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Hull under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Hoekstra was born July 15, 1923, in Sheldon, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. Hoekstra. He served in the U.S. Navy, as a seaman first class, in 1945-1946. He married Margaret Van Maanen February 13, 1948. The couple lived in Pipestone, MN and Hull. He farmed for 46 years and also served as custodian at the Protestant Reformed Church for 30 years. Mr. Hoekstra was a member of the Protestant Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Peter E. and Judy Hoekstra of Ripon, CA, David and Donna Hoekstra of Hull and Stanley and Barb Hoekstra of Hawarden; two daughters and their husbands, Marcella and Marlin Vis of Holland, MI, and Donna and Jay De Wit of Hull; 16 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Brummel and Mrs. Bert (Bernice) Van Maanen, both of Hull, Mrs. Ray (Florence) Brunstring of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Alvin (Dorothy) Mulder of Virginia Beach, VA, and six brothers, Martin and John Hoekstra, both of Sheldon, George Hoekstra of Grand Rapids, MI, Ted and Henry Hoekstra, both of Hull, and Peter Hoekstra of Kent City, MI.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Lee Hoekstra and his parents. Memorials maybe given m his name to the-Greater Sioux County Hospice.
