GILBERT HENDRICK HOEDER
Gilbert Henry Hoeder died at his home in the west part of town at four o'clock a.m. Tuesday following a lingering sickness lasting some four years. He is survived by his widow and four sons.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 20 at 1:30 from the home and at 2:00 o'clock from the Central Ref. church. Interment will be made in the Family burial plot in Sioux Center. Rev. J. M. Dykstra will have charge of the services.

Deceased was born Sept. 6, 1874 at Zeeland, Netherlands and passed from this life Aug. 17. Had he lived until next Sept. 4th he would have reached the age of 63 years. He grew to young manhood in the land of his birth and upon reaching the age of 23 years he migrated with the members of his family to the United States, settled in Sioux Center and plied the trade of carpentry, being an efficient and pain staking workman.

On Feb. 16, 1887 he was united in marriage with Helena Van Duinen, and last Feb. they celebrated the 40th anniversary of this happy union. Four children were born to the couple who are William of Sioux Center, John of Sioux City, Martin of Occanside, Calif., and Gilbert Jr. of Bcarden?, Ark. There are several grandchildren.

His passing removes from Sioux Center a
widely known and highly respected citizen.
