Kornelius Mooibroek of Chino, Calif., formerly of Hawarden, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 in Ontario, Calif. Funeral service was Wednesday, March 17 at the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Joe Mooibroek officiating. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden was in charge of the arrangements.

Kornelius Mooibroek was born July 3, 1907 in Westerlee, Groningen, the Netherland. He married Janna Vander Zwaag on Dec. 28,1929. The couple and their family came to the Untied States on July 25, 1955 settling in Hawarden. Kornelius was employed at Coilcraft until his retirement. Mrs. Janna Mooibroek died June 3,1986.

He moved to California and married Linda Vander Veen in 1989. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden while living there.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; a daughter, Lucy Daale of Hawarden; three sons, Case of Avon, Ohio, Joe of Boca Raton, Fla., and Dirk of Cincinnati, Ohio; six stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janna; nine siblings; a grandson Vince Ronsiek; and a step-grandson, Shaun Lower.
