Elsie Moore, Rock Valley, died Tuesday, August 20,2002 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital at the age of 93.

Elsie was bom March 3,1909 at Itzehoe, Germany, daughter of William and Ida (Lahn) Hamann. Elsie turned four years old as the family was coming to
America aboard a ship. The family came to the Rock Valley area where Elsie attended a country school in Plato Township.

Elsie married Clifton Moore on January 28, 1927 at Rock Rapids, IA. They farmed 10 years near Alvord, Iowa and 20 years near Doon, Iowa before moving to Rock Valley in 1958. At Rock Valley
Elsie worked at the Warren Cafe and then at the laundromat for 21 years. Cliff died December 7,1984.

Surviving relatives include four daughters: Mavis and her husband Walt Vugteveen of Rock Valley; Marcia and her husband Oscar Benson of Sheldon, Iowa, Lois Collenbaugh of Rock Valley, Karen Easton of Marshall, Texas; one son and
his wife Jim and Jane Moore of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren grandchildren.

The funeral service was held on Saturday at the Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley with burial at Valley View Cemetery
