Death Claims Mrs. W. A. Melius Mrs. W. A. Melius, well known to many of the older residents of Hawarden, (passed away last Friday at the home of her son, J. P. Melius, in Sioux City at the advanced age of nearly 95 years.

Mrs. Melius was bom in Binghampton, N. Y., Oct. 8, 1839, and was married to W. A. Melius at Independence, Iowa, Oct. 16, 1858, where she resided witih her husband until 1881 when they moved to Storm Lake. In 1882 they moved to Akron where Mr, Melius died in 1914. The following year she moved to Sioux City where she has since made her home with her children.

She is survived by one son, J. P. Melius, and five daughters, Mrs. H. L. Wood, Mrs. James Woodside and Mrs. R. A. McCartney, all of Sioux City, Mrs. W, A. Hamilton of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. A. A. Andridge of Jacksonville FL. . Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Woodside were loug time residents of Hawarden.
