Inez E. Shibley Oggel, Sioux City, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998 at a Sioux City hospital.
Joint services will be noon in St. Thomas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Verdery Kerr
officiating . A private burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Oggel was born Oct. 27, 1917 in Granville, N.D., the daughter of Lyle and Bena (Ausda) Shibley. She lived in the Ruthton, Minn, area as a child. She graduated from Ivanhoe High School in Ivanhoe, Minn., and attended business college in Minneapolis, Minn. She came to Sioux City in 1941. She married Dean M . Oggel on April 20, 1941 in Luverne, Minn. They were married 57 years. He died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998 in Sioux City. She worked as a legal secretary for a judge in the Pipestone County Court House in Pipestone, Minn. She was the longtime secretary to the president of Briar Cliff College, retiring in 1974. She was administrative assistant in the mathematics department of St. Cloud State University, retiring in 1995. She was a past member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City and St. Cloud, Minn. She was a longtime member of the St. Cloud P.E.O. chapter.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. James and his wife Ynes of Sioux City and Mark of Seattle, Wash.; four grandsons, Christian, Graham and Evan Oggel and Kristopher Byan; one granddaughter, Hayley and one sister, Edna Olson of Lake Benton, Minn.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle.
