John Nicholas Young, father of Mrs. F. (Frederick) W. Schiefen,died Saturday evening at the Schiefen home in Eagle township. He was 74 years of age. The funeral was held at the Catholic church in this city Tuesday morning, Father Masterson officiating. A number of friends and relatives from a distance came to attend the funeral and the remains were followed to their last resting place by a large circle of neighbors and sorrowing friends.

John Nicholas Young was born May 1826 in Bliesen, Lichtenberg, Gotha, Germany. He came to the USA in 1840. He married Catherine Liesmann 1832-1875 on 7 Aug 1854 Dansville, Livingston, NY. The children were Jacob b. 1854, John Francis 1856, Cahterine 1857, Mary 1859, Frank 1861, Pauline 1863, Elizabeth 1865, Joseph 1867, Helena 1868, Anna 1870.)
