Mrs. Louis Meyer Died Sunday

Mrs; Louis Meyer, for twenty years a resident of Ireton and highly respected by all who knew her, passed away at 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon of heart failure. She had been ill for some time and for a long time she had spells of much suffering, seemingly from, rheumatism.

Mrs. Meyer was a woman of quiet tendencies but had excellent qualities and was a splendid neighbor. She loved her home and church and was devoted to her friends. Marie Margaret Fleutje was born Sept. 2, 1872, in Heide, Holstein, Germany, and so was 64 years, 3 months and 11 days old at the time of her death. She came to the United States in: 1896,-locating at Carroll, Iowa, and later she came to Sioux county, settling near Ireton. She was married to Louis Meyer Feb. 26, 1901, in Ireton.

They lived on a farm, seven miles north of Ireton, for a number of years but moved to Ireton twenty years ago which has since been her home. They had no children. -The sorrowing husband has the sympathy of the community in his loss.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran church, of which she was a consistent member, with Rev. H. W. Krieger in charge. He preached from the text found in I Peter, chapter1,, verses 3 and 4. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
