Louis C. Meyer Died Saturday
Again we chronicle the passing of a respected and well known citizen of Ireton and community. Louis C. Meyer passed away at the Hawarden hospital Saturday morning shortly before 8 o'clock from pneumonia and complications. He was removed to the hospital last., Thursday and was in a critical condition. For the past two months or more he had been ill with rheumatism and complications and at various times his condition was serious.

Funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 and from St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. H. W. Krieger in charge. The church was filled to capacity by relatives, neighbors and friends. The beautiful floral offerings showed how highly the departed was regarded in the community. The pallbearers were B. W. Fritz, T. H. Hatton?, Preston Poole, Harry Johnson, Albert Re Raad and Orville Mueller, the old neighbors. Burial was in the family plot in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Louis, Meyer, son of William and Anna B. Meyer, was born October 24, 1870, at Luzerne, Iowa. He came to sioux county in 1888, settling near Ireton where he farmed for many years. He was united in marriage with Mary Fleutje in Ireton February 26, 1901, and she preceded him in death December 13, 1930. On September 28, 1939, he was married to Mrs. Minnie Brunkhorst by Rev. Hoelscher at Rock lapids. Besides his widow he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Began of Ireton, and two brothers, William of Beresford and Fred of Sibley.

In the passing of Mr. Meyer, a man of character and service and one who was highly regarded, has passed on. As a neighbor and friend he was one always ready with helpfulness. His deeds will long be remembered.

D.; Mrs. Anna Jipp and family, Centerville; Mr. and Mrs. Herb. Mohr, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Meyer and daughter, and William Meyer, Beresford; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peters, Jasper, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Flinchie, Round Lake, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer, Lillian Allard and Mrs. Joe R. Gronewold, Sibley.
