Tuesday evening G. J. Harmelink died at the age of nearly eightytwo years at his home in Newkirk vicinity. He was one of the pioneers. He came here from Wisconsin in the early seventies and bought the homestead of old man Winthorst. He leaves a wife and seven children. The funeral services were at Newkirk Thursday noon. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all. Those from afar who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ike Wormhoudt from Oskaloosa. Deceased was the father of former supervisor Charles Harmelink and of Mrs. Joe Kleinhesselink of Alton vicinity.
